Rob Thomas took to email Kickstarter backers and let them in on a few more details regarding the second Veronica Mars novel as well tease a couple of plot points.
If you were one of the many fans to read the first Veronica Mars novel then you may have been a bit disappointed that is was lacking one of the show’s main characters, Logan Echolls. Logan is not only Veronica’s main love interest in the Veronica Mars universe but he is a constant source of comic relief with his snarky-yet-lovable dialogue. So it came to no surprise that many people were a bit disappointed that his character was reduced down to a handful of emails and Skye conversations.
Apparently fans have not been quiet about their disappointment. So when the show’s creator, Rob Thomas, revealed details about the upcoming novel in an email to Kickstarter backers he made sure to confront the most important question of “Will there be more Logan in the second book?”
“If you fell into that camp,” Rob addressed in his email. “Then you’ll be pleased to know that you can expect a lot more Logan in Mr. Kiss-And-Tell, the follow up novel, which we’re on schedule to release late this year.”

The next Veronica Mars novel, Mr. Kiss and Tell (Amazon) is now available for preorder and will be released October 28th.

In the second book in the New York Times bestselling mystery series, Veronica Mars is back with a case that will expose the hidden workings of one of Neptune’s most murderous locations. The Neptune Grand has always been the seaside town’s ritziest hotel, despite the shady dealings and high-profile scandals that seem to follow its elite guests. When a woman claims that she was brutally assaulted in one of its rooms and left for dead by a staff member, the owners know that they have a potential powder keg on their hands. They turn to Veronica to disprove—or prove—the woman’s story.   The case is a complicated mix of hard facts, mysterious occurrences, and uncooperative witnesses. The hotel refuses to turn over its reservation list and the victim won’t divulge who she was meeting that night. Add in the facts that the attack happened months ago, the victim’s memory is fuzzy, and there are holes in the hotel’s surveillance system, and Veronica has a convoluted mess on her hands. As she works to fill in the missing pieces, it becomes clear that someone is lying—but who? And why?

As nightlocktime notes, the book will take place approximately 180 days after the events of the film. Nice.
